Working on campus is the perfect way to earn money, build marketable skills, meet new people and stay connected to LASUSTECH life—all within a few steps of your lecture halls. This page explains:

What Counts as “On-Campus”?

Any paid work physically located on university property and paid through the LASUSTECH payroll system is considered on-campus employment. Common examples include:

  • Library aide or circulation desk assistant
  • Research lab support (data entry, sample prep, equipment runner)
  • Food-service team member at campus cafés
  • IT help-desk or computer-lab monitor

Finding Positions

The Career Service Centre maintains an “On-Campus Jobs” filter inside Handshake. Log in, select Jobs → Filters → On-Campus and you’re set.

Vacancies also appear:

  • Weekly CSC newsletter (subscribe below)
  • Department notice boards and social media groups

Application Tips

  • Tailor your CV to highlight reliability & customer service—top skills for most campus units.
  • Have two references ready: a faculty member and a previous employer or club adviser.
  • Practise answering “Tell me about yourself” in under one minute—then book a mock interview with the CSC.
